Lulav and Etrog
Time & Location
About The Event
It is considered a mitzvah to have one's own lulav and etrog for the holiday of Sukkot. It is a wonderful way to be more personally involved in the celebration of the harvest festival.
We hold the four species: the palm (lulav), 3 myrtle leaves (hadassim), 2 willows (aravot) and the etrog, together and point and shake them in six directions to remind ourselves of G-d’s presence in every aspect of our lives.
The Hebrew Academy’s Grade 6 students, with the assistance of Rabbi Shmaya Galperin, will learn the art of putting together lulav-etrog sets which will then be sold to school families and friends.Lulav-etrog sets can be used at home, at the synagogue, and your child can also bring it to school during chol hamoed Sukkot (10/16-10/18).
In order to guarantee delivery in time for Sukkot, which begins at sundown on Sunday, October 13, 2019, orders MUST be placed by September 23, 2019.
